Midnight Radio’s Frankenstein

Go back in time as we spin the horrific tale of a tenacious young scientist hell-bent on recreating human life. In this show YOU are cast as the live studio audience, so play your part and don’t miss your cue when the applause sign flashes!
It’s Alive! But, what is it? A monster? A mistake? 200 years after it was brought to life, Midnight Radio reanimates Mary Shelley’s masterpiece, Frankenstein, like you’ve never seen or heard it before!
Go back in time as we spin the horrific tale of a tenacious young scientist hell-bent on recreating human life. A creature born so hideous, he was forsaken by his maker and shunned by society. Watch Frankenstein’s monster come alive with Foley sound effects, vintage commercial spoofs, and a dizzying array of vocal acrobatics!

-
"Frankenstein is a dark story, but the visuals and old-fashioned sound effects offer a counterbalance that brings lightness to the story and keeps it relevant."
– Tiffany Raymond, PGH in the Round -
Midnight Radio at Downtown's Bricolage theater is live theater at its best.
– CP Staff, Pittsburgh City Paper -
"Midnight Radio’s “Frankenstein” is a flawless. For those of you who love horror, it will bring joy to your dark, little hearts."
– Michael "Buzz" Buzzelli, 'Burgh Vivant -
"
– Wendy Arons, Theatre Review, The Pittsburgh Tatle -
"Jefferey Carpenter handily directs an agile cast of top-notch performers. Brett Goodnack plays Victor Frankenstein and, as he did so remarkably with Bricolage’s 1984, creates a fully realized and tortured character using just his voice. In that he’s joined by Cotter Smith as The Creature."
– Ted Hoover, Pittsburgh Current -
"The ensemble performs with dynamic energy and deadpan panache, and while all three performers are terrific"
– Wendy Arons, Theatre Review, The Pittsburgh Tatler -
"“For us, Patrick Kim is like a treasure,”
– Toby Tabachnick, Jewish Chronicle -
"Fictional worlds collide when larger-than-life stories of Frankenstein and Karate Man Patrick Kim are told in old-fashioned radio play style."
– Rick Handler, Entertainment Central, Pittsburgh
