B.U.S. 11

  • March 4 - 5, 2016

BUS 11

A daring exposé of Pittsburgh’s Most Adventurous Artists. Witness the Burgh’s top directors, playwrights, and performers race against time to create compelling original plays in only 24 hours.

Since 2005, We’ve hosted one of the Burgh’s most adventurous and unconventional fundraisers: Bricolage Urban Scrawl (affectionately known as B.U.S). An exhilarating mix of jet-fueled theater-making and VIP Gala, B.U.S. is the place to find Pittsburgh’s preeminent playwrights, directors, and performers. This remarkable event features longtime stage veterans and fresh-faced artists alike, giving the local theater community a chance to come together on one stage. Audience members will witness the birth of six brand new 10-minute plays, mingle with the who’s who of Pittsburgh’s theatre scene, bid on the best silent auction packages in town, enjoy food and drink throughout the evening, and be the very first to hear about our 2016 season line-up, (including the closely kept secret of our next immersive endeavor).

After 10 years of hosting this adrenaline-charged fundraiser, Bricolage has relocated the main event to The August Wilson Center, allowing us to make this year’s B.U.S. bigger and better than ever.

See What Everyone Else Is Saying

  • “For year 11, Bricolage Urban Scrawl is full steam ahead but also looking back on a decade of fast-paced creativity with the book “B.U.S.: 10 Years of 10-Minute Plays.”

    – Sharon Eberson, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
  • “If you’d like to see a bunch of the region’s best theater artists doing a whole lot of live theater on the spur of the moment—creating it practically off the tops of their heads (or maybe the seats of their pants)—try B.U.S. 11, the 11th annual Bricolage Urban Scrawl.”

    – Rick Handler, Entertainment Central Pittsburgh
  • “This year’s event provided audiences with plenty of laughs, as many of the short plays are fast-paced comedies, but also on the bill were several thought provoking plays for patrons to digest long after closing curtain. Subjects such as PTSD, gentrification and race were touched on.”

    – Jack Lake, Pittsburgh in the Round
  • “It’s back! The Bricolage Production Company proudly presents their 11th annual Bricolage Urban Sprawl event, otherwise known as B.U.S. 11. After a decade of successful productions, this year’s is sure to impress with some new twists, including a rare opportunity to possibly be a part of an immersive experience.”

    – Pittsburgh Downtown Community Development Corporation
  • "Next year, you might want to hop on. It's a wild ride."

    – Mike Buzzelli, Burgh Vivant
