It's Episode 19 of Thank You 5! With long-time Bricolage friend and collaborator, Matt Morrow of Diversionary Theatre Matt M. Morrow, Executive Artistic Director [He, Her, They] Since joining Diversionary, Matt has directed the 20th Anniversary Legacy production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch ( San Diego Critic’s Circle Award Nomination, Outstanding Direction of a Musical) World Premiere of Gordon Leary and Julia Meinwald’s musical The Loneliest Girl in the World, Georgette Kelly’s Ballast (Winner, 2017 Best New Play, San Diego Critic’s Circle Awards), the San Diego Premiere of Bash Doran’s The Mystery of Love and Sex, the West Coast Premieres of Jordan Harrison’s Amazons and Their Men, and Christopher Shinn’s Now Or Later. Matt recently directed Caryl Churchill’s Cloud Nine with The Old Globe/USD MFA program. Prior to joining Diversionary Theatre, Matt was the Associate Artistic Director of City Theatre Company, a LORT theatre in Pittsburgh dedicated to producing work written in the past five years. With City he directed the Regional Premiere of Jessica Dickey’s Charles Ives Take Me Home, the World Premiere of Tami Dixon’s South Side Stories (Pittsburgh Post Gazette & Tribune Review’s Top Ten of 2012), and Kim Rosenstock’s Tigers Be Still.Matt was a Creative Catalyst Fellow with The San Diego Foundation and La Jolla Playhouse. He has developed new work with The Sundance Theatre Institute, The Old Globe, The Banff Centre, Center Theatre Group, American Conservatory Theater, Lincoln Center, PlayPenn, and Page 73 Productions in residence at the Yale School of Drama. He served as The John Wells Professor of Directing at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama (Graduate & Undergraduate Directing programs), and is a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab. Staycee received her initial dance training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. In 2010, SPdp&SS debuted at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, and served as resident dance company for the theater for three years. Through PearlArts, Herman creates soundscapes to serve as a component to contemporary dance. As a sound designer, Herman’s repertoire includes a wide variety of projects and collaborators. His work has been featured in various independent films and documentaries, video games, and advertising. He has designed soundscapes for numerous choreographers. He has collaborated with many visual artists to create installations and touring exhibits. He has recorded and produced work for a plethora of recording artists across genres and techniques. Episode 15: Marya Kaminski Marya Sea Kaminski is a theater artist based in Pittsburgh, where she serves as the artistic director of the Pittsburgh Public Theater. She combines her experience as a director, writer, solo performer, and scenic designer to create theatrical experiences that connect us more deeply to one another and to this unique moment in time. She is a founding co-artistic director of the Washington Ensemble Theater, where she produced over a dozen regional and world premieres. And from 2014 to 2018, Kaminski served as the associate artistic director at Seattle Rep where she founded Public Works Seattle, an artistic initiative that creates large-scale worksof participatory theater founded in authentic, long-term civic partnerships. She has taught and lectured on theater and performance at the University of Washington, Hollins University, and Cornish College of the Arts, where she was honored by the students with their annual award for teaching excellence. Michael first came to Bricolage as a production intern in 2014. Since then they have worked with Bricolage as a fellow, production assistant, house manager, performer, general production MacGyver, and finally as the full-time Production Manager. Michael’s work has also been produced by FolkLab, Organic Theater Pittsburgh, Cup-a-Jo Productions, Alarum Theatre, Future Tennant, Non-state Actors, and sometimes just for fun.
